]]> The public is invited to celebrate Fire Prevention Week with the Prince William County Fire and Rescue System during their Open Houses and Expo on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Open Houses will be held at various fire and rescue stations throughout the county. Families are welcome to tour the stations and meet the firefighters who serve the community.

Open House – Saturday, October 12th, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m

In addition to the Open Houses, the Fire and Rescue System is hosting a Public Safety Expo at Pfitzner Stadium on October 12th starting 12 noon – 5 p.m. Check here for details.

]]> Kevin Kittrell, a former longtime member with Nokesville VFD, and his wife are holding a charity event (through the charity he and his wife started a few years ago in Texas) at Station 5 for back to school items for kids in need in our local area. It is a one-day event where people will drive up behind Station 5, pick up a backpack full of school supplies, and drive away. The event will last about two hours. Finlay Fire is a sponsor of the event and will be staffing the event and NVFD will also be offering our support.

We hope you will help spread the word in the community for school supply donations as well sharing the Back Pack Pick up Day event. See below for details:

Donation Collection: Please consider donating school supplies before July 26. We have donation bins at the front door of Station 5.

]]> Nokesville Vol Fire Department has been in contact with the North Pole again this year. With lots of planning, it looks like Santa will be able to make his yearly trip through parts of the Bristow/Gainesville area as long as COVID germs do not hamper his trip. We ask that you please keep an eye on your children and not let them enter the street, or chase after the fire truck. We understand that seeing Santa is very exciting, but this type of behavior is extremely dangerous and we want everyone to safely enjoy Santa’s visit.

Santa’s schedule is as follows, beginning each day at approximately 10am (only the main streets are listed, but we do try to hit all the roads in these areas if possible):
